Director of Operations – Behavioral Health πŸ“

Pennsylvania (on-site 3–4 days/week) | πŸ’°

$150,000 – $200,000

A well-established Pennsylvania-based behavioral health organization β€” one of the largest providers of peer support services in the state β€” is entering an exciting new chapter of growth following a recent acquisition. We're looking for a Director of Operations to lead on the ground: building operational infrastructure, standardizing processes, and driving new client onboarding as the organization integrates and scales.

This is a high-visibility role for someone who thrives in a build-mode environment and knows how to bring structure, strategy, and momentum to a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day operational performance across Pennsylvania-based service delivery, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency
  • Lead post-acquisition integration efforts β€” aligning systems, processes, and teams across the expanded organization
  • Develop and implement scalable operational frameworks to support growth across a 27+ county footprint
  • Identify, pursue, and onboard new clients and county contracts β€” serving as a key external-facing leader in the market
  • Partner with clinical and administrative leadership to improve workflows, reporting, and service outcomes
  • Build and mentor an operations team capable of sustaining long-term growth

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of operations leadership, with at least 3 in behavioral health, peer support, or a related human services sector
  • Proven experience building or scaling operations in a multi-site or multi-county environment
  • Familiarity with Medicaid-funded programs and state/county contract compliance in PA
  • Strong business development instincts β€” comfortable engaging with county officials, MCOs, and community partners
  • Ability and willingness to be on-site in Pennsylvania 3–4 days/week, particularly during the first 6–12 months

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with peer support services or lived-experience workforce models
  • Post-acquisition integration experience
  • Existing relationships with PA county behavioral health offices or HealthChoices MCOs

Why This Role:

  • Ground-floor leadership opportunity at a mission-driven organization with serious backing and room to grow
  • Direct impact on programming that serves some of Pennsylvania's most underserved populations
  • Competitive compensation ($150,000 – $200,000) with autonomy to build something lasting
  • High visibility with senior leadership across the organization
